Tania Kern is a member of the Paris Bar since 1997. She graduated from Strasbourg University where she studied Business and European Union Law. She also has a certificate of English legal studies from Leicester University, a master degree in English and American Business Law from the Sorbonne University and a master degree in Intellectual Property Law from the Assas University.


She acquired the title of Intellectual Property Specialist in 2002.She practiced one year with an attorney specialised in Intellectual Property litigation and than joined the IP Practice Group of Baker & McKenzie Paris where she was in charge of all kinds of IP litigations including trademarks, patents and designs infringements litigations.

She has developed extensive experience in national and multi-jurisdictional anti-counterfeiting programs in collaboration with the Customs Authorities. She represents clients before civil and criminal courts. She has worked for companies involved in various fields of activity such as fashion, sport, cosmetics, the pharmaceutical industry.


She is the author of a book published by Wolters Kluwer – Lamy in December 2010 entitled “Les marchandises contrefaisantes: Identifier Réagir Lutter” (Counterfeit goods: Identify, React, Fight back). She has also participated in the drafting of the IP section of the "Guide of Customs Procedures" published by Wolters Kluwer.


In her day-to-day practice, Tania Kern handles all matters related to IP (trademarks, patents, design rights, copyrights) or unfair competition including the drafting and the negotiation of contracts and the performance of IP audits.


Since 2010, she is a lecturer at the Centre for International IP Studies (CEIPI), Strasbourg University, during the CEIPI Summer School on IP in Europe.She is a member of APRAM, AIPPI and INTA. Within INTA, she is a member of the Anti-Counterfeiting Committee. She speaks French and English and has a good understanding of German.
