Erica Nobel has fourteen years of qualified experience of Swedish and European Environmental legislation and she has been working full time with real estate and environmental issues since 1998, both within the public and private sector.

The work has included both preventive considerations in due diligence procedures and environmental hazardous activities such as infrastructure, industry, energy facilities, and reparative considerations regarding contaminated land, environmental tort and delegation. Among her clients you will find airports, harbours, construction companies, oil companies, heavy industries, wind power companies and manufacturing industries.

Erica Nobel is head of Delphi’s Environmental Team in Malmoe, including six lawyers. Part of the team has been working with climate change issues since 2004. They participated in the negotiations at SBSTA (UNFCCC) and were legal experts in the Swedish team that negotiated the finalized license agreement regarding the software for the Swedish national registry for emissions trading with DEFRA (United Kingdom).

Further they held a position as a legal advisor in the project that set up the Swedish national registry for emission trading. In that position they were responsible for the interpretation of the various EU regulations and directives that regulates the member states work with and within the registries for emissions trading. They also handled contacts, regarding legal issues, with the Swedish ministries responsible for EU ETS.

Currently Erica is working with two major project including renewable energy and the production and use of wind turbines. In the Northern harbor of Malmoe there is a project initiated by the City of Malmoe, involving the legal possibility to construct wind turbines outside the harbor of Malmoe. She is also involved in Oresund Heavy Industy AB’s project regarding the legal possibility to produce foundations to wind turbines and transport and build the turbines at sea.

Other relevant cases involving infrastructural considerations are f.i. the environmental permit for Copenhagen Malmö Port AB’s environmental hazardous activities. Further, Erica has been advising in the 900 MSEK project of building the Northern Harbor in Malmoe and the future expansion of the area.

She has also been involved in the CT-ÖBA project, including the local authority’s part of the Citytunnel project in Malmoe and the road network to the Öresund bridge. Another interesting project is the quarry of Jumstaberg, which is the new major quarry in the Stockholm Region. The quarry will allow one of Sweden’s major construction companies to achieve efficiency in the planned expansion of parts of the planned “Södertälje Syd”. Finally the expansion of Stockholm Skavsta flygplats could be mentioned. Stockholm Skavsta flygplats is Sweden’s first major private airport and has evolved from a military airport to Sweden’s third, regarding the annual amount of passengers.
