After my studies at the KU Leuven, the Catholic University of Leuven (June 1995), I started in August 1995 at Deloitte & Touche Consultants where I focused on labour law and corporate law. A combination that offered me the advantage of framing social law within company structures.

As a manager within this group, I made the switch in 2004 to the law firm Laga & Philippe (later LAGA and now Deloitte Legal). This was also the moment when I switched my focus to social law. Corporate law made me develop a special affinity with everything related to business transformation. I mainly supervise restructuring in the broad sense of the word, mergers & acquisitions, outsourcing, due diligence processes, harmonisation of salary and working conditions and mass redundancies,…

Of course, I still like to assist clients with all their questions regarding individual labour law (recruitment, composition of salary packages, dismissals).

As a trusted advisor, I strongly believe in the importance of a pragmatic approach. To connect even better with the clients and to understand their needs, I obtained my HR manager diploma in 2017.

Finally, I also assist clients in the non-profit and public sector. Here, too, I focus on business transformation, where the social law consequences of the restructuring of certain companies and/or groups are mapped out. The status of civil servant and the transferability of staff, co-employer, the posting of staff, the grouping of employers (werkgeversgroeperingen) are topics that come up in this process.

Within the Deloitte organisation, I work on a daily basis with my colleagues from corporate and commercial law as well as the tax lawyers from Global Employer Services and Global Business Tax. This multi-disciplinary approach of client files allows us to assist clients from a broader perspective and to map out all the consequences of a given action.

As a director within the Employment, Pensions and Benefits team of Deloitte Legal, I am closely involved in the day-to-day management of the team and I enjoy taking on the responsibility of coaching and training younger team members.
